If you’re using social media, you must learn how to turn your likes into leads. In the video above, I offer three ways you can convert likes into leads.
- Go for the Value Like – Offer valuable content. You’ve heard the saying, “content is king” and the reason is because if you are providing valuable content you become seen as a resource, authority and thought leader. Content is more valuable than random pictures and selfies. If you are an expert in your field, make sure to share your expertise with valuable content. Your content should function in these 3 ways: to educate, inform and entertain. Yes, you read that right. You may not think of yourself as a teacher, but your job is to educate your prospects on why they should do business with you and how your product or service stands out from the competition. You may not think of yourself as an informer, but you are. If you’re not giving your prospects information on trends and topical news pertaining to your industry, you are missing the boat. And finally, if you don’t add a little entertainment or personality to your social media posts, why bother? No one likes to follow a boring Betty or Bob. Be bold and show a little charisma.
- Turn the Compliment into a Conversation – Give the viewer or reader a chance to dialogue with you. Social media is a two way conversation between you and your fans, friends and followers. Anytime someone clicks like on your posts, that is a virtual compliment. You must reciprocate that compliment by opening the dialogue. You can open dialogue in a few ways: compliment them, like their like or start by asking them a question to strike up a conversation. You never know where a conversation could lead. Your goal is to make a real connection so you can turn that connection into a cash paying client.
- Have a Call To Action – Request the viewer to take an action or make a response. You don’t have to sell every time you offer a call to action. However, you do have to make a request that the viewer do something to take the next step. Chances are, if you ask them to leave a comment or click a link for more information, they just might take you up on that offer.
There are many other ways you can convert likes into leads. However, if you start with these three simple strategies, you will be well on your way to converting some of your likes into leads so you can get paid. Think of it this way, most people do absolutely nothing with their likes. If you begin to take time the time to maximize the time you spend on social media, it just may impact your sales and your bottom line.
